Hello, Welcome to BlogOodle!

Do you have a head full of ideas that need to be expressed? Would you like to start your own blog, creative portfolio, photo gallery, political forum, or e-commerce store. Do you often think "If only I had the money to hire someone, or the know-how to develop my own website". Well I'm here to say that you can, and it will cost you next to nothing, and you won't need to have any technical skills. Let me introduce you to WordPress.

I'm an idea person, and I love to take a concept and just put it "out there". In 1999 I got the idea for a home rental site and wanted to put together a website that was membership based for people to find rental homes. I didn't know the first thing about how to do this so I hired someone who did. He told me I would have to design the pages and forms and then he would make it all work. I purchased a copy of Dreamweaver and learned the basics enough to put my pages and forms together. Then my hired 'coder' using HTML and CGI Scripts developed the back end of my site, and it worked fine. The big problem was that it cost me a lot of money, and continued to cost me more money whenever I wanted to make a change or add a feature.

Jump forward to early 2009 – I Discover WordPress. Now all of a sudden I have a platform that allows me to simply register a domain name, sign-up for an account at a hosting company, load WordPress (For Free) to my account on the host server, and I'm up and running. Of course you still have a bit of work to do getting your site to it's finished state. But this is something anyone can learn, and with just a short learning curve you will soon be designing your own website, whether it's just a simple blog, or a full e-commerce store. And guess what!? You can do it all virtually for free!

BlogOodle is all about first defining exactly what you want, and then using what WordPress gives you to create it. If you plan things out right and do a little searching you can put a sophisticated site together that will bring your vision into realty, without any customizing whatsoever.

It's all accomplished using the "Big Three" components of WordPress…Themes, Plugins and Widgets.
